Admission fees to sites not included in the hourly rate. Admission fees to be paid on the day at the ticket office with guide. Some museums, such as the Uffizi and Accademia galleries in Florence and the Leaning tower in Pisa, require ticket reservations in advance so as to avoid waiting in the queue. The reservations will be made prior to the tour date by Under The Tuscan Sun Tours.

Minimum tour length: 2 hours.
Maximum tour length: 8 hours.

Unqualified guiding is not permitted by the Italian Law.
Therefore, when booking a local guide in any Italian city, it is your right to ask for proof that he or she holds a license before closing any deal. Under present regulations in Italy, as in most European countries, there is no such thing as a "docent", "lecturer", "art historian" or "cultural group" to deal with when hiring the services of a local guide, either directly or through travel agents. Before showing any personal title or degree, guides must show that they are Licensed Tourist Guides first.

Licensed Tourist Guides are the only professionals permitted to conduct tours in all sites and museums within a city.

To become a Licensed Tourist Guide in Italy – like in most EU countries - candidates must pass an examination given by the local public tourist authorities to assess and test their knowledge of the city in terms of its history and geography, its art and architecture, its museums and art galleries, churches, its environs and cultural features. As part of the requirements, candidates must also prove their knowledge of each of the foreign languages they applied for with oral and written tests.

Licensed Tourist Guides provide a professional service to visitors: they act fairly in all dealings with all those who engage their services together with their colleagues, tourist services purveyors, local tourist boards and cultural insitutions. Small Groups
We keep our groups small: fourteen people is the maximum for each tour. This allows us to move about easily and unobtrusively, and to eat and stay where we choose. We avoid the commercialized traps which await large tour groups.

Minimum Packing and Unpacking
We design our tours based on short excursions from one or two primary locations and, in this way, we minimize the amount of transit time and the headaches of packing and unpacking.

Our chauffeurs are very experienced and familiar with the location of the primary companies and sights of Florence Area and Tuscany. For services booked as directed providing that the pick and and drop off are within the city limits of Florence, Bagno a Ripoli or Fiesole, we charge from the booked pick up time to the booked drop off time without accounting the time necessary to reach the pick up and drop off location.
