Discover Piazza San Marco and the Medici Quarter
Your guide in Florence will meet you in Piazza San Marco and the tour will start from Palazzo Medici Riccardi, the first example of a Renaissance palace in Florence. Coincidentally this was the first residence of the Medici family and Lorenzo the Magnificent grew up right here.
We will continue in the Medici quarter, in San Lorenzo Square, where the Medici family commissioned to Filippo Brunelleschi the restoration of the oldest church in Florence. After the guided visit of the church, we will admire the façade of Santa Maria Novella, a superb church situated right next to the Railway Station in Florence.

In a magnificent church in Florence, Santa Trinita, we will have the possibility to admire the Sassetti Chapel, a masterpiece of the Renaissance by Domenico del Ghirlandaio.
Palazzo Pitti, the last residence of the Medici family houses today some very important collections of paintings. If you love Raphael’s paintings, I suggest a guided visit to the Palatine Gallery. We will also admire the Uffizi building that houses since the 16th century the richest collection of paintings in Italy, being the oldest museum in Europe.
Some of the statues Piazza della Signoria are definitely part of these glorious times in Florence and we will dedicate the last part of our guided visit of Florence to discover their stories, mysteries and the artists who created them.
